9 Weirdest Ways Films Have Been Released

7. Song Of The South

Cloverfield Paradox
Disney

Disney has a long and, somewhat, racist history. Nowhere is this more clearly seen that in the Disney film, The Song of the South. It is, in a word, real freaking bad like not good at all gang. But it hasn't been ignored or even forgotten by Disney. You know Splash Mountain? One of Disney's few hallowed mountains? Yeah, that one tells the tale of the Song of the South.

You can't buy this film anywhere. But it is well-known, widely discussed, and, well, sure seems like a ton of people have seen it. What's the deal? How was it released?

Illegally. Yeah, someone "leaked" the film.

It has a fair amount of fans, despite its never-officially-released status, and just coincidentally Disney sells a ton of merch featuring characters from this film that has never been released due to it being oh so offensive, but also... you can easily find it on any pirate site despite Disney's normally aggressively litagious nature.
