9 Weirdest Ways Films Have Been Released
6. The Day The Clown Cried
We've all heard of films that are given limited viewings - maybe just a weekend or so in a handful of theatres. Well, the Day the Clown Cried is like that, except it's showings were... a bit more limited.
Yeah, turns out, that creator-actor Jerry Lewis finished this film about a sad clown who leads children to the gas chambers during the Holocaust! and at some point realized it was kind of a not great film. So, instead of having it released, he hoarded it and owns the only copies of the film in existence.
And if you're a close friend of his, and you're lucky, then there's a chance that you'll get to see this film, with its original creator. But that's the only way this film has ever been shown. So good luck!
