9 Worst Performances In Acclaimed 2018 Movies

8. Mark Ruffalo - Avengers: Infinity War

This isn't likely to be a popular opinion, but did Mark Ruffalo's performance as Bruce Banner in Avengers: Infinity War just feel a little...off to anyone else?

Ruffalo's Banner has always been one of the less-animated Avengers - at least until he turns into the Big Green Guy - and in a movie where The Hulk is mostly pushed to the sidelines, Ruffalo often looks like he's sorely in need of a nap.

A quintessential example of this occurs when he's first reunited with Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and explains, "[Thanos] is not gonna stop until he...he gets...Vision's stone."

The line's clearly meant to be sound portentous and loaded with emotion but it comes off like a total flatline, and things don't get much better when Ruffalo is awkwardly cackling to himself later on while badly composited inside the Hulkbuster armour.

It's not all his fault, because he's honestly not given a whole lot to do in the movie anyway, yet his thoroughly uninterested performance reflects that.
