1. Not Enough Emily Blunt

After John Krasinski's Lee Abbott met an untimely fate at the end of the first film, it seemed natural that the sequel would see Emily Blunt's Evelyn become the focal point, as a mother fiercely fighting to protect her children.

And while this is true for the movie's opening passages, Blunt ends up a strangely lacking presence in her own movie.

This isn't the spoiler you might think it is, but Blunt ultimately sits out a massive chunk of the second half, kept off-screen while the focus shifts to other characters.

This speaks to the wider frustrations of the film's fragmented storytelling structure, separating Evelyn from her daughter Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and son Marcus (Noah Jupe) for so much of the story, such that for large chunks of it Evelyn's got very little to do.

In the end Emmett feels as much of a protagonist as Evelyn does, which may disappoint those understandably expecting the story to focus tightly on Evelyn's journey.

These gripes aside, though, A Quiet Place Part II does enough to please most fans of the original. Here's everything it gets right...
