A Wrinkle In Time Review: 3 Ups & 6 Downs

3. Storm Reid's Strong Central Performance
The one actor in this film who manages to give an uncompromisingly strong showing is young Storm Reid, turning in a remarkable performance as Meg, even when the material isn't doing her any favours.
She avoids a lot of the typical child actor pitfalls - over-acting emotional scenes or playing the part as creepily precocious - and is wholly convincing as a misfit teenager struggling to find her place in the world.
Regardless of the film's failings, she clearly has a bright future as an actress if she wants it, and the film's poor critical and commercial status says nothing about the quality of her performance.
