3. Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter
Director Tim Burton has many people he frequently casts in his films, but the most common (aside from Johnny Depp) is his long-time partner Helena Bonham Carter.
The Movie(s): It began in 2001 with Planet of the Apes, and has continued with Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd, Alice In Wonderland, and most recently, Dark Shadows.
Did It Work?: Financially, yes, with every single one of those films at the very least earning back its budget. Critically though, it's more mixed. While some were hailed (Big Fish, Sweeney Todd, Corpse Bride) the majority had mixed reviews. Or in the case of Planet of the Apes, downright hostile reactions from some. Still, they maintain a large fanbase, and will likely continue making successful films for quite a while.
