2. Francis Ford Coppola/Sofia Coppola
Another father/daughter team-up, this time featuring legendary director Francis Ford Coppola and his daughter Sofia.
The Movie(s): For many years Francis would cast his daughter in small roles or even as an extra. This can be seen in The Godfather Parts I and II, The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, The Cotton Club, Peggy Sue Got Married, and finally Tucker: The Man and His Dream. But the most notable collaboration they ever had was when he cast Sofia as Mary Corleone in The Godfather Part III.
Did It Work?: Good golly, no. While the film as a whole was a success (excellent box office returns and seven Academy Award nominations), much criticism was directed towards Sofia's role, culminating in her "winning" the Golden Raspberry Awards for Worst Supporting Actress and Worst New Star. Fortunately, a few years later Sofia found her niche - working as a writer and director, later going on to be nominated for a Best Director Oscar for her work on Lost In Translation.
