8. Return of the Cool
In a world obsessed with prequels and origin stories it was a great idea to show a younger, more brutish Bond in Daniel Craigs incarnation. In fact, an initial description of Casino Royale from the writer himself was of an oafish opus and in one of six special edition Bond covers, GQ titles Craigs as the Hitman which rightly reflects Ms description of him as a Blunt Instrument. The literary Bond, however, is adept, skilled and a workaholic and the only thing blunt about him is his dialogue towards men he loathed such as the golfing cheat Goldfinger. Something to expect in the coming films is less scenes akin to the embassy exit strategy in Casino Royale and more of a man in control of the bigger picture. Everyone has to grow up at some point and this includes Bond.
