After Skyfall: 10 Future Predictions For The James Bond Franchise

7. Fewer Kills

Although the franchise appeared to be marching to the murderous tune of Hollywood until Pierce Brosnan€™s record-breaking amount of €˜Kills€™ it would seem that Craig€™s incarnation will take a different route. Claims of €˜getting closer to the books€™ would inevitably take Bond away from the earlier cheese and modern Hollywood shock-tactics. €œHe had never liked doing it,€ Fleming wrote about killing, €œand when he had to kill he did it as well as he knew how and forgot about it€. Although there were occasions, in both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, of Bond€™s brutish kills there are also hints of his ability to kill intricately and calculatedly. In the coming films fewer more pragmatic kills are likely to ensue since, after all, dropping fellers from rooftops onto cars with passengers inside is likely draw unwanted attention to an international man of mystery.

A. J. S. Scott was created as a homunculus by a mad English Alchemist who was trying to make rum from ink and seawater. He is still a fan of both and he has no comment on what happened to all the ‘No Exit’ signs in Islington Underground Station when he visited for Beltaine.
