After The Dark Knight Rises: 10 Actors Who Should Play Batman in Reboot

9. Nicolas Cage

It€™s never going to happen but the idea Nicolas Cage putting on the suit and become the next Batman would be amazing. He probably has his own just in case he gets that call. His mid 90s action man came complete with bonafide A-list status and guaranteed box office draw, yet nowadays that feels a long time ago. In more recent years the acting Behemoth that is Nicolas Cage is a very different beast. This seemingly involves being far less selective and saying yes far more often then saying no. Therefore he€™d be game. Now all he needs is Christopher Nolan to drop his producer (and wife) Emma Thomas and hire Jerry Bruckheimer instead, this way Nic might be in with a shot of getting cast. Cage has genuinely put in some great performances in his career, Oscar nominated for Leaving Las Vegas and Adaptation. His tendency to accept more than he should and cause of his current reputation as maybe not the most subtle of actors has perhaps not been helped by off-camera financial issues (who wouldn€™t want a castle in Germany and a genuine dinosaur skull), but one thing that can€™t be said against Cage is that he isn€™t committed (no one said been committed). Cage as Batman is probably something that sadly won€™t be seen, but there€™s no denying it wouldn€™t be an entertaining ride. With a lady friend on the back and drink in hand, Cage€™s Batman would suit up and cruise that Batpod up and down the streets of Gotham, saving the civilians and taking down bad guys in his stride.
