5. Armie Hammer
Perhaps one of, if not the least established names on the list, in many ways the 65, 25 year old California native could be the perfect choice for the next Bruce Wayne. Hammer is best known for his critically well-received performance in The Social Network as the Winklevoss twins, or as Mark Zuckerberg would have it, The Winklevii. Next up for The Hammer (not sure if hes adopted this nickname yet) is The Lone Ranger, playing the Lone Ranger alongside Johnny Depps Tonto. If the decision is made to do something similar to Spiderman and go back to the start with Batmans next reboot, then looks-wise, Hammer would be great as not only young Bruce, but also Batman. Helming The Social Network, David Fincher was able to coax a great performance from Hammer and with the right director, despite being unproven, theres no reason he wouldnt be able to do it again. Under Darren Aronofskys guide, Ellen Burstyn, Mickey Rourke and Marissa Tomei have all received Oscar nominations and Natalie Portman an Oscar for her part in Black Swan. Say Aronofsky is given another crack at his Batman: Year One adaptation, casting Armie Hammer as young master Bruce, the culmination could be something special. If a decision is made to re tell the well-trodden Batman origins story then perhaps a director like Aronofsky and a more fresh-faced Batman, like Hammer, is the kind new direction Batman should be going in. Armie Hammer is part of the wealthy American, Hammer family, his great grandfather being Armand Hammer, so he and Bruce even have the whole rich heritage thing in common, though maybe that's just clutching at straws.
