4. It Preserves Nolan's Trilogy
I might be a minority on this, but I dont want another Nolan Batman film. His trilogy tells a complete story with a definitive beginning, middle, and end. Continuing the series with another film would reek of insincerity, and thus tarnish the trilogy. Part of what makes Nolans films work is that they were made first and foremost to satisfy a creative need. Its so rare these days to see a filmmaker actually step away from a franchise at its peak. He could have kept making Batman movies, milking it for all its worth and nobody would have complained. The fact that he didnt shows that he isnt a director only in it for fame or money, and that is extremely admirable. Making another film would ruin that. Some might argue that a reboot so soon also tarnishes these films, but I dont see it that way. Rebooting respects what came before by letting it stand on its own. Moving on and letting others take the reins isnt disrespectful, in fact, its the most respectful move one could make. The only other option would be to stop making Batman movies, but that would be foolish. By rebooting, Nolans trilogy can be viewed as a single complete vision untarnished by the typical studio cash cow mentality.
