After The Dark Knight Rises: 5 Reasons a Batman Reboot Must Happen

3. New Villains

Since Nolan opted to ground his Batman universe in a modern day realistic context, his options when it came to choosing which villains to involve have been limited. Much of Batman€™s rogues gallery is comprised of characters that simply would not fit in his more realistic world, such as Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Killer Croc, Clayface, and Man-Bat, to name but a few. Most of his rogues gallery have yet to even be in a film, and it€™s about time we rectify this. The Mad Hatter, Black Mask, Hush, and Dr. Strange are characters begging for film iterations, and since Nolan had no interest exploring these characters, his leaving is necessary in order to get them on film. They may not be as culturally well known as Joker, Two-Face, or Catwoman, but with a good writer, a passionate director, and talented actors, they can become popular. The Batman universe is filled with interesting characters, and Nolan only scratched the surface. Leaving these characters to be buried into obscurity would be a crime. The next Batman film should resist the urge to involve the more famous villains and go for these lesser known characters.
