Age Of Ultron: 10 Concerns You Should Have About The Avengers Sequel

9. The Whole Mutant/Miracle Thing

It's fairly common knowledge now that the Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will not be mutants - mutants simply can't exist in this franchise due to the entire concept being owned by Fox, thanks to their ongoing X-Men movie franchise. As such, it would seem that the name for such individuals with superpowers in this franchise could be "Miracles" (this came to light in the Captain America: The Winter Soldier mid-credits scene, when Baron Wolfgang von Strucker said "this is the age of miracles, doctor. There is nothing more horrifying than a miracle!"). Whether or not this term will apply to people born with superpowers, those subject to treatments that lead to superpowers (it was hinted that Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch got their powers from Loki's staff) or both, it is a term/concept that may or may not be embraced by Marvel fans.
