Aladdin Trailer Breakdown: 10 Things You Need To See

8. Returning Songs

Notably, every piece of marketing prior to this had stayed clear of using any of Alan Menken's original songs from the animated film in full. Sure, each teaser has featured orchestral variations on some of the biggest songs, but they had yet to outright use them or give audiences a chance to hear what these newly reprised versions might sound like.

That all changed with this trailer.

Because Disney is assumedly going to be chucking this trailer in front of big films like Avengers: Endgame in the hopes of courting as big of an audience for this film as they can, they wanted to make sure it had the biggest base appeal it possibly could. And the easiest way to do that? Play songs people know.

Thus, this trailer features big and extended first-looks at both the Genie's iconic Friend Like Me and the classic love ballad, A Whole New World. Both tease (mostly) faithful renditions of these classics and with Menken himself returning to score the film and write new songs, there's no reason to believe the music won't be a major strength for the film, regardless of the quality of the film itself.
