Alice Through The Looking Glass: 10 Reasons It's Worse Than The Original

4. Too. Much. Overacting.

The original Alice in Wonderland was divisively received in part because the likes of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter hammed their performances up to the moon in an attempt to compensate for a fairly listless script.

While the pair were arguably among the more entertaining aspects of that movie, their shtick sadly feels more worn out and tired this time around, because they shout louder and mumble even harder to cover up an even more piecemeal script.

It's just a rehash of what we saw the first time: Carter is abrupt and shouty, while Depp mumbles and looks creepily like Madonna for most of the movie. There's nothing more to it than that, and it ends up being more exhausting than entertaining after 113 minutes.
