20. Alice Wears Harem Pants

Costume designer Colleen Atwood came away with an Oscar for her work on the first film, and she's had the chance to give Alice a much more colourful wardrobe than the bedraggled blue dress she wore throughout much of Alice in Wonderland. According to Wiki, harem pants were technically not introduced to Western fashion until the early 20th century, a good few decades after Lewis Carroll€™s novels were published. At the end of Tim Burton's film, we see Alice being taken under Lord Ascot's wing as an apprentice to establish trade routes to China. Likely she came back with enough colourful clothes to fill her wardrobe. So we get to see Mia Wasikowska rocking some of them as Alice the Hippie in the first trailer.
