Of course, all of that speculation is assuming that concept art actually gets used by Blomkamp. The same collection of designs also involved an Alien queen and that big ole ship from Prometheus, so anything's possible. There's also literally tonnes of concept art produced in the run-up to making a major motion picture, with loads of it remaining just that: concepts, which don't actually get used. So whilst all of the hints so far suggest that Sigourney Weaver will be coming back, and she might be joined by Michael Biehn, and it might all sort of tie together with the wider history of the Alien franchise that's been explored elsewhere since the last proper instalment in the series, could wind up being all for naught. None of those ideas could wind up getting used. Then again, maybe Blomkamp has been picking and choosing which of the concept art he's been uploading to his Instagram account. Maybe he does know that all of this stuff is going to be involved, and he's hinting to fans what the direction is his film will be going in. Audiences won't know until the film's actually out. Or until the first in-depth trailer breakdown, anyway.
