9. How Has David Survived?
The synopsis for Alien: Covenant explains that viewers will see David as the 'sole inhabitant' of a 'dark, dangerous world' in the movie. This begs two big questions: What has happened since Prometheus? And how did David survive when Elizabeth didnt? Clearly, theres a big gap in time and narrative between Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, and fans will want an explanation about what went down in that interim period. Perhaps David and Elizabeth did find some Engineers, but couldn't broker peace with them and ended up fighting instead. And maybe Davids survival means that he killed them all... although, admittedly, that's just a complete guess at this stage. It's worth remembering that, as a synthetic, David has a longer lifespan and a greater chance of survival that Elizabeth in pretty much any situation. But it's still important to know what has transpired, and how David came out of it alive. And what has he been up to in his isolation since then?
