10. Is This David? What Exactly Is He Doing?

This mysterious figure in the cloak is one of the trailer's more intriguing shots, but it is believed that this is David, one of two androids played by Fassbender in the movie, and the rather more villainous one.

Standing in a wheat field and appearing to fire a gun into the air, what exactly is he up to here? Is he the cause of the big explosion we see in the trailer? This also appears to be around the same time we see the Neomorph goes on the attack, though it's not clear whether he's helping them or the crew (or just serving his own ends, whatever they may be).
