Aliens vs. Predators: Ranking The Films From Worst To Best

10. Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007)

Disappointing isn€™t the right word to aptly describe the release of 2007€™s disastrous Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. With the bar for the potential of crossover films starring the titular creatures having been set pretty low by 2004€™s Alien vs. Predator, it€™s amazing how Requiem succeeds in setting it even lower, effectively ending the spinoff franchise before it ever really took off despite its inherent prospects. Armed with an R rating allowing for the series to embrace its gorier aspects and with someone having been bound to notice what worked and didn€™t work in its predecessor, Requiem should€™ve been able to step up as a sequel to provide a grittier, nastier and far more epic battle between the Predators and the Aliens in comparison by virtue of the fact it had nowhere to go but up. Unfortunately, taking the film down a darker path simply meant turning the lighting almost completely off, obscuring large portions of the film from even being visible. Chances are, unless you happen to be watching the film while reading this or you€™re one of the film€™s three or four fans, you probably don€™t remember much about Requiem beyond how it squanders the intriguing Predalien introduced in the first film€™s closing moments. It€™s a neat design and an interesting concept wasted in an abysmal film that doesn€™t even manage to offer a single unforgettable moment or character to at least contribute something of value to either franchise. Requiem is an apt subtitle for marking the death of a franchise that could€™ve and should€™ve been so much more.
