2. The Sequel Bait Ending Is Unintentionally Hilarious

No spoilers here, of course, but Alita's ending is just begging to be ridiculed by critics and general audiences alike.

It's admittedly customary for almost every expensive new movie to provide at least a subtle tease for future movies, but Alita's sequel-baiting is so excessive and lacking in subtlety that it can almost rival the Fantastic Beasts franchise in its craven desperation.

Fox was clearly banking on Alita's final "gotcha!" moment being rapturously received by audiences, but the climactic rug-pull is ultimately more laughable in its silly over-eagerness than it is genuinely exciting.
