All 56 Walt Disney Animated Classics: Ranked From Worst To Best

55. Chicken Little (2005)

Chicken Little
Disney

Given that it followed Home On The Range, Chicken Little didn't exactly have a high benchmark to punch towards. Even more fatally than the wayward farmyard comedy, this was a return to fairy tale territory, and the results were equally as uninspiring.

Rather problematically, Chicken Little aimed so hard for the cuteness vibe and forgot about either choosing a substantial enough story or force-feeding it up to make it work. The result is a timid, forgettable exercise in boredom, which is never as spirited as Zach Braff's central performance.

It's just too easy to avoid, which - for a Disney - might as well be a death sentence.

54. Melody Time (1948)

Melody Time
Disney

Melody Time isn't exactly a terrible film per se, it just can't compete with its feature film siblings.

Technically speaking, the popular music version of Fantasia remains very impressive for its time, and its as charming and disposably entertaining as Make Mine Music, but it lacks the narrative grandeur of Fantasia or the grip of the features.

There are some fun characters, but it's just not eventful enough, and it fails to spark the imagination in the way its classical counterpart manages so memorably.
