Alpha Flight: 10 Things You Need To Know About The MCU's Rumoured Super Team
4. Wolverine Isn't The Only Mutant With Ties To The Team
When you think about the Fox properties now owned by Disney and Marvel Studios you are most excited to see, naturally the X-Men are near the top of the list, and of the team of mutants, the most hype is surely surrounding Wolverine.
After 20 years of Hugh Jackman portraying the character, and one of the greatest send-offs in comic book movie history, all eyes will be on the MCU and how they bring Wolverine to life. However, this has to be done right. Time and devotion needs to be given to the entire mutant race in order for any of the X-Men to make sense as part of the wider story.
Alpha Flight could certainly contribute to this, as the team has connections with far more mutants than just Weapon X. The likes of Aurora and her twin brother Northstar, Flex, Murmur, Radius, and Centennial have all been a part of the roster at some point, and can all claim to be mutants.
The obvious introduction for this race in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be an X-Men movie, but if Kevin Feige wanted to go a different, more surprising route, mutants could well be introduced with Alpha Flight, with an X-Men movie acting as a full stop to the narrative, in a similar role to that of the Avengers movies so far.
