Alternative Oscars 2018: The Nominees & Winners For Every Category

20. Best Supporting Actor

The Florida Project Willem Dafoe
A24

WINNER: Willem Dafoe (The Florida Project)

This year was absolutely jam-packed with strong supporting turns, and though Sam Rockwell will inevitably be going home with the Oscar, Willem Dafoe's performance as compassionate motel manager Bobby Hicks is ultimately just a little more deserving.

The fact that Dafoe's still Oscar-less in the fourth decade of his career is, frankly, absolutely ridiculous, and what a delight it would've been to see him on the Oscar podium.

Elsewhere, Patrick Stewart certainly deserved some love for his sublime work in Logan, Armie Hammer being snubbed for Call Me by Your Name was absolutely criminal, and Blade Runner 2049 saw Harrison Ford deliver his best work in years and years.

RUNNERS-UP:

2. Sam Rockwell (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri)

3. Patrick Stewart (Logan)

4. Armie Hammer (Call Me by Your Name)

5. Harrison Ford (Blade Runner 2049)
