4. Peter Loves Being Spider-Man

"You know what I love most about being Spider-Man? Everything." It's not only Peter's humour that sets him apart from other costumed heroes, it's the fact that he loves being Spider-Man. All too often we're shown heroes who have responsibility thrust upon them, or who take up the mantle of a hero as a sort of punishment or self-imposed act of duty. We hardly ever get to see them enjoying having super powers, or basking in the thrill of saving the world. In Sam Raimi's trilogy, Peter often referred to his power as a curse, and most of Spider-Man 2 dealt with how much being Spidey was ruining his life. This Peter is different. He's got the girl, people seem to love him, and he's having a blast. That's a refreshing angle for them to give this franchise (and the superhero genre in general), and it will be interesting to see how the film's events affect that mentality.
