Could the Punisher be the first true fellow superhero to appear alongside Spider-Man on film? Well, it might not be as far-fetched an idea as you might think it is. For a long time, there have been rumours that the Punisher actually made an appearance in Spider-Man 2, in the scene when Mary Jane runs away from her wedding, through a park, to reunite with Peter Parker (see the scene below). If that was indeed the case, could that have been a foreshadowing of the character's potential future appearance in the franchise, had the franchise gone beyond the third film? Who knows? But it would certainly be awesome to see the character in the Amazing Spider-Man franchise, if indeed it was a plan and one they want to resurrect. Punisher's first appearance was in the Amazing Spider-Man comics in 1974, so it does make sense that he might appear in the movies of the same name and, while he could provide some support for Spidey against the likes of the Sinister Six, his opposing methods (he regularly kills without remorse) could also prove to be something of a conflict of interests between the duo and that could add an interesting dynamic to their relationship.
