10. Steel Spider / Spider Kid

There's got to be an "out there" suggestion on every list, right? Well the Steel Spider is this list's example. Everyone is fairly aware now of the fact that Doctor Octopus is coming to the Amazing Spider-Man franchise as part of the Sinister Six. The iconic tentacles have been seen quite clearly within Oscorp and the character was alluded to with a close-up of Dr. Ashley Kafka's round glasses - suggesting that this franchise's Doctor Octopus might not be Otto Octavius. As such, the villain's inclusion could pave the way for the Steel Spider. The Steel Spider is Oliver Osnick, a genius teenager who idolises Doctor Octopus and builds himself a set of mechanical tentacles. He starts committing crimes and gets the attention of Spider-Man. The hero assumes he is Doctor Octopus and tears his tentacles apart, impressing Osnick to the extent that he modifies his tentacles to become spider legs, calls himself Spider-Kid and becomes a hero. As he matures as a person and a hero, he calls himself the Steel Spider and becomes an occasional ally to Spider-Man. It would add an interesting dynamic to see him first attempting to help Spider-Man whilst still a kid, potentially making himself nothing more than a burden to the hero, only to reappear later slightly more mature and competent and actually provide Spidey with some worthwhile help.
