The Amazing Spider-Man: 9 Predictions For His Cinematic Universe

6. Alistair Smythe Becomes A Central Antagonist

When B.J. Novak was revealed by Marc Webb over Twitter to be Alistair Smythe, every fan knew right then that Spider-Man's own Cinematic Universe was about to get a little bit more hectic. Alistair Smythe, son of Spencer Smythe, acceded his father's legacy when Spencer, who first created the very first generation Spider Slayers designed to kill Spider Man, was himself killed due to protracted exposure to radiation. After his death Alistair redesigned his father's Spider Slayers, all while continuing to harbour a deep hatred for Spider Man. Because of this, Alistair looked to create new and stronger versions of the Spider Slayers and kill Spider Man himself. After failing to do so Alistair embroidered himself in a "biorganic carapace" which gave him the ability to overcome his paralysis, discard his wheelchair, and use the carapace's deadly advantages to tackle on the challenge of killing Spider Man himself.
It's essential in understanding that Alistair Smythe is a critical piece of the Spider Man lore. The number of storylines he's participated in, along with causing all sorts of mayhem on Spider Man's struggle for justice, is thoroughly vast in number. His potentiality is scary when considering what he's truly qualified at doing. The promise of B.J. Novak portraying Alistair would be an imposing opportunity for Spider-Man's Cinematic Universe. Since his story and character is crucial yet so gargantuan, he'd most likely take a spot in the later sequels. Whether showcasing the Spider Slayers (rather renamed the Cyber Slayers) or becoming the Ultimate Spider Slayer, Marc Webb and the writers will have a boisterous time bringing Alistair Smythe to the big screen.
