The Amazing Spider-Man: 9 Predictions For His Cinematic Universe

4. Black Cat Suits Up, Helps Spider-Man With The Sinister Six

Felicity Jones was cast awhile back for a role in TASM2, with most fans assuming she'd be playing Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat. Although her role is currently disclosed at the moment, fans can all wonder where her part in the film will go. Felicia Hardy, additionally known as Black Cat, is a designated antiheroine in the Spider-Man universe. She plays a significant role in acting as a saboteur of sorts, allying against Spider-Man's villains and helping Spider-Man in the process but fulfilling her own role as a neutral bit player in Spider-Man's universe. Her role as an antiheroine and potential interest to Spider-Man eventually caught Peter's eye, and both him and Felicia kicked off their own personal relationship. Spider-Man and Black Cat have always had an unusual connection with one another. They've always seemed on polar opposites and that particular relationship, coupled with their actual out-of-costume relationship, has been that one distinguishable element that would seem special for her on-screen debut. If Felicity Jones is in theory Felicia Hardy/Black Cat, then that contingent seem very likely. Since she's not considered a supervillain per se, she could play a key role in defining Peter Parker (and his alter ego Spider Man) later in the series. Playing the role of a love interest to Peter, if Gwen doesn't pull through in TASM2, would provide a significant change of pace with Peter's evolution as a character. But as his crime-fighting alter ego Spider Man, it could provide a compelling arc if the Sinister Six are involved later on. Since Spider Man and Black Cat are like a chocolate and peanut butter combination, their team work combined with the threat of the Sinister Six would be all the help Spider Man would need at taking down the six-villain power trip. Even if Felicity Jones isn't Black Cat and she ends up playing another character that, by off-chance, is dating Harry Osborn but ends up putting Harry in the friendzone for his friend Peter Parker, everything will be forgiven. But contrary to what Jones practically gave away during a few interviews, the curtain has been raised behind the illusion of who she's actually playing.
