Angry Birds: 4 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References You Need To See
1. The Quicksilver Scene
One of Angry Birds' biggest competitors at the box office this May is X-Men: Apocalypse and, while it may in part be by accident, the app movie actually has a cheeky throw-down of the gauntlet; in the film's third act Josh Gad's Chuck uses his superfast ability to help the gang get past a bunch of pig guards, causing them to beat themselves up and cover each other in paint, just like Quicksilver did in Days Of Future Past's stand-out kitchen scene.
It's a neat little homage and, because Apocalypse also has a reprise of this scene, it's almost like the two films are directly competing for "Best Slow Mo Action Scene" for May 2016. And you know what? Angry Birds almost wins!
