Ant-Man: 10 Directors Who Could Replace Edgar Wright

1. Joe Cornish

Joe Cornish And now we get to the most talked-about replacement for Edgar Wright, the guy who co-wrote the script with Wright, Joe Cornish. Even ignoring his attachment to the project, Cornish made waves with his directorial feature debut, Attack the Block, which blended a gritty, realistic setting with the not-so-realistic addition of CGI aliens. Furthermore, after J.J. Abrams left the Star Trek franchise for Star Wars: Episode VII, Cornish was persistently rumoured to be on the shortlist for directing Star Trek 3, even if they ultimately went in another direction. How Likely Is It? Cornish is without question the most natural fit, given that he co-wrote the script, though the real question is whether he's willing to play nice with Marvel and compromise on their vision moving forward. Attack the Block may have been a small movie, but it proved that he can deliver breathlessly-paced, effects-driven action, so there's really no real reason not to offer the film to him first above all others.
