Ant-Man: 10 Directors Who Could Replace Edgar Wright

2. Phil Lord & Chris Miller

Phil Lord and Chris Miller have done no wrong as filmmakers so far, with each of their three movies enjoying significant critical acclaim. Their debut, the animated movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, was a unique delight, 21 Jump Street defied the odds and became an outrageously funny, R-rated outing, and their best effort to date, The Lego Movie, was considerably smarter and more entertaining than just about anyone expected. What's more, their experience directing both live-action and animation makes them a very snug fit for Ant-Man, given how much the movie is going to involve blending organic filmmaking with visual effects. How Likely Is It? Lord and Miller have just directed a pilot for the 2015 TV series Last Man on Earth, but other than that, their slate seems to be pretty clear once they get their promotional duties out the way for their fourth feature, 22 Jump Street, due for release next month. Their filmmaking style seems like it would mesh perfectly with what we've seen of Edgar Wright's test scene filmed for Ant-Man, and they also aren't averse to working from other people's scripts (they didn't write either of the Jump Street movies), so consider this one a distinct possibility. 8/10
