Ant-Man: 10 Reasons Edgar Wright's Departure Dooms The Film

9. Wright Has Incredible Easter Egg Skills

If there's one thing that Edgar Wright has in common with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's a love of giving the fans plenty to spot on a second watch. From Stan Lee cameos to comic book nods, the Marvel movies are full to bursting with little easter eggs to ensure that even the most savvy fan gives the pause button on their remote control a good workout. Edgar Wright has an equally impressive eye for detail. The entire plot of Shaun of the Dead is foreshadowed in an early speech and there are hidden references to horror directors, including Lucio Fulci and John Landis. Alongside the likes of Joss Whedon and Quentin Tarantino, Wright is one of the most cine-literate filmmakers currently working in Hollywood. Without Wright at the helm, Ant-Man cannot hope to maintain that level of hidden easter eggs for its audience.
