Ant-Man: 10 Ways It Can Link To The Avengers

10. Setting Up Future Avengers

After Hank Pym€™s Ant-Man first debuted in the '60s, it wasn€™t long before he was joined by a partner, Janet Van Dyne a.k.a the Wasp. And they then formed the Avengers unit with Thor, Hulk, and Iron Man. Neither Hank nor Janet appeared in The Avengers and there€™s been no mention of them yet. And with an older, retired Hank in the Ant-Man film, the question of whether or not Wasp will appear is still up for debate. Evangeline Lily€™s character, Hope Van Dyne, is, in the comics, the daughter of Jan. Given the hairdo the actress sported recently in Twitter photos, she bears a striking resemblance to Jan and it€™s very likely that she will become the new Wasp. So how does this connect to the Avengers? There are already rumours that the Avengers will be torn apart as a result of the events of Age Of Ultron. And given that Phase Three will open with Captain America: Civil War, that makes it seem even more likely that when Earth€™s Mightiest Heroes are next seen, the make-up of the team will be extremely different. There are some rumours about Ant-Man appearing in Civil War, so perhaps he and the Wasp are two of the first recruits to a completely new team of Avengers.
