Lang has three criminal buddies throughout the movie who help him pull off various heists, and each is an entertaining if vaguely embarrassing stereotype. Firstly, there's Michael Peña's Luis, the leader of the three cronies, who gets the biggest role and essentially sees Peña playing up to a Hispanic criminal cliche. At least he does show an affinity for Rose wine and Rothko paintings in his two best scenes, though. Next is Kurt (David Dastmalchian), a seemingly Eastern European criminal who talks in a thick accent and, of course, has to name-drop gypsies when things go wrong. Finally, there's T.I.'s Dave, who plays up to the gangster felon stereotype that informs his real-life hip hop career (not to mention his string of arrests). It's all in good fun of course, if a little on the unimaginative side.
