The very first scene of the film takes place in 1989, as the original Ant-Man, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) resigns from S.H.I.E.L.D. after learning that the organisation is attempting to copy his special shrinking technology. What's most memorable about the scene isn't the information we learn, but the damn impressive de-aging job done on Douglas to make him look like a man in his mid-40s-or-so. Even though the scene features cameos from Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) and Howard Stark (John Slattery), it's almost hard to pay attention when the CGI to wind back the legendary actor's age is so jaw-droppingly good. Given how creepy this has looked in movies like X-Men: The Last Stand, it's clear that techniques have come a long way in shy of a decade.
