Ant-Man: 28 WTF Moments

27. The Ridiculous Product Placement

Jurassic World has easily taken away the summer's award for most egregious blockbuster product placement, what with its nods to Mercedes and Coca Cola...until now. Ant-Man opens with Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) being released from prison and taking a job at Baskin-Robbins. Cue a scene in which Scott's manager finds out about his criminal past and fires him, and during the conversation, the name "Baskin-Robbins" is name-dropped a number of times ("Baskin Robbins always finds out!"). Hell, the manager even tells him to take a "Mango Fruit Blast" on his way out, as though the commercial shilling wasn't obvious enough. That's just one placement, though: a giant Yakult container can be seen inside a prison, Pepsi is prominently flashed up when Scott Lang is in a car, Hope (Evangeline Lilly) talks about "popping a Xanax", and there's a packet of Life Savers candy visible during the briefcase fight between Ant-Man and Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket (Corey Stoll).
