In addition to Thomas the Tank Engine getting blown up huge at the end of the movie, one of Scott's ant comrades also does, surprising Paxton as it runs down the stairs and into the streets. In one of the final scenes, as Scott joins the entire family (including Paxton) round the dinner table, Cassie is briefly shown feeding scraps of food to the giant ant hiding underneath the dinner table, in much the way that someone typically would a dog (a callback to an earlier line from Paxton - "that's a really weird looking dog"). It's left unresolved and presumed that the family might just keep the ant as a pet, but basically it's a "deal with it" gag that the audience isn't really supposed to linger on.
