Ant-Man 3: 10 Things You Need To Know About Kang The Conqueror
8. He Lost His Only Love

When Kang was flung into the 41st century, he easily subdued every region save for one - The Kingdom of Carelius. The time-terrorist refused to invade the kingdom since he fell in love with its princess, Ravonna. Worried that rejecting him would cause Kang to exterminate her people, Ravonna vowed to rule by his side.
Unsatisfied that Ravonna wouldn't return his love, Kang summoned the Avengers to the timeline, believing she would fall for him if she saw how easily he defeated the world's greatest warriors. Instead, Ravonna joined the superheroes, hoping they would topple Kang's empire. Kang was so outraged, he invaded The Kingdom of Carelius, successfully overthrowing its king.
Kang had a reputation for killing the ruler of each kingdom he conquered but he refused to murder Carelius since he was Ravonna's father. His men saw this mercy as a sign of weakness and so, shot at Kang.
However, Ravonna dived in front of the blast, fatally wounding her. With her dying breath, she told Kang that seeing him spare her father caused her to fall in love with him. (Basically, she loved Kang because he didn't murder her dad. Setting the bar pretty low there, Ravonna.)
