Ant-Man 3: Everything It Needs To Fix About The Franchise
8. Explain Janet And The Quantum Realm
Alright, this might be one of the trickier aspects the film would have to pull off. So, the quantum realm was teased effectively in the original Ant-Man, with many expecting it to feature heavily in the sequel. And while there is more of it in Ant-Man And The Wasp, the focus of the film was more on getting there to rescue Janet, alongside other useless subplots (don't worry we'll get to them!).
Essentially, the film didn't tell us much more about the realm than we already knew; in fact, you could argue that Avengers: Endgame fleshed it out better. This wouldn't be as infuriating if Ant-Man And The Wasp didn't leave a myriad of plot holes in its wake, especially concerning the mechanics of time and ageing, or how you can just pass quantum particles on to someone like you're E.T.
Yes, suspension of disbelief is always needed, but the realm is pretty much a black box that needs further exploration for us to fully buy into it. Janet herself should be important for this, and the lines she has in the mid-credits scene for Ant-Man And The Wasp do hint at an advanced knowledge of the quantum that's rife for exploitation.
