Ant-Man: 6 Major Implications For Marvel Phase 3

3. The New Avengers Has A Mole

At the end of Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Captain America and Black Widow set up the New Avengers in, what is now revealed, as a an old S.H.I.E.L.D. warehouse. With Nick Fury and Maria Hill in key management positions, it looked like this new team was not only an update of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, but the inheritor of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s mantle of cross-border protection. And, it's suggested in Ant-Man that with that comes the same old problems; just as the original S.H.I.E.L.D. had a major infiltration problem with Hydra, so too does the New Avengers have a mole somewhere within their workings. When Cross springs his trap on Hank and Scott, revealing he's well aware of their plan to steal the Yellowjacket suit, he says he got his information from some source following Scott's infiltration of the New Avengers facility. This means that there must a nefarious agent (possibly working for Hydra) embedded in the new organisation. Expect this to be an underlying thread going forward - it could feasibly be paid off in any number of the upcoming Phase 3 movies.
