Ant-Man And The Wasp: 10 Reasons To Be Excited
9. Michelle Pfeiffer Is The Original Wasp
Fitting the eighties motif of the last film, which repeatedly referenced Michael Douglas' Hank Pym and his days as a Cold Warrior, we now know that Michelle Pfeiffer - herself a major star of the decade - will be playing the original Wasp herself, Janet van Dyne.
Douglas himself had previously shortlisted wife and fellow actor Catherine Zeta-Jones for the part, but there's no doubt that Pfeiffer is a fantastic pick. Having already taken on the genre with a now iconic turn as Catwoman in Tim Burton's Batman Returns, Pfeiffer is more than well-equipped for the part, which will no doubt see her take on both modern day and Cold War settings by the film's end.
It would be a major surprise if we didn't see the original Wasp return from the quantum realm, especially since Scott managed to escape it back in the events of the first film (and not to mention that silhouette of her appearing). Don't be surprised to see Douglas' Pym striving hard to find a route to rescue his wife either, or for Janet to have even escaped herself.
Most importantly, however, is that it's apparent that both incarnations of The Wasp will have major parts to play in the Ant-Man sequel - particularly if we'll be seeing more flashbacks.
