Ant-Man And The Wasp: 11 Big Implications Of Marvel's Announcement

3. Welcome To The Quantum Realm AND Infinity War

Given how Ant-Man ended - with the suggestion that the original Wasp might still be alive, and Scott's seemingly impossible return from the Quantum Realm - you would have to think that the second film is going to be at least partly concerned with the smallest part of the MCU. Should we expect the Wasp of the title to actually mean Evangeline Lily's Hope Van Dyne, or is it a clever way of giving away that the narrative will be focused on her mother instead? The fact that the comic title of the same name focused on Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne is hardly going to be an accident. So, it wouldn't be a bad bet to assume that Marvel are going to go with another heist movie, but of a different kind entirely as Hank attempts to send his daughter and Scott into the Quantum Realm to find his lost wife. And the longer-term implication of that storyline could be that Captain America's "death" - which could happen in Infinity War - could be explained in the same way as it was in the comics, with him trapped between time and space (i.e. in the Quantum Realm). Could that also shape the narrative here, since it comes after Infinity War Part 1?
