Ant-Man And The Wasp Review: 6 Ups & 5 Downs

4. Paul Rudd & Evangeline Lilly's Entertaining Team-Up

After Ant-Man teased a superhero team-up between Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne in the sequel, this movie definitely delivers an enjoyable two-hander between the characters.

Yes, there's arguably a little too much of Hope babysitting the oafish Scott, but watching the two battle in tandem is a lot of fun, and even their dramatic scenes together occasionally hit a genuinely involving note.

When Scott talks to Hope about her long-lost mother, for instance, there's a convincing emotional connection between the two, and it's further to the film's credit that it doesn't focus too much on the obvious romantic history between the two. It's there, sure, but it's almost never lingered on.
