Ant-Man And The Wasp Trailer's Musical Easter Egg Revealed

Ants Invasion!

The first trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp has been generating a lot of buzz this week, and various aspects have been pored over, broken down, and endlessly gif'd.

There is, however, one detail that largely went unnoticed. While the guitar riff heard in the trailer wasn't exactly hidden, it wasn't given too much thought until now, as director Peyton Reed has confirmed it's a very clever Easter egg. The riff in question comes from the song Ants Invasion, by none other than Adam and the Ants, because of course it does.

The music in the trailer did jar slightly with what we're used to from Marvel, but now it makes perfect sense as to why it was included. The first movie had a lot of fun with ant puns, and it looks as though the sequel is going to double down on that, which is to be expected when you've got comedy director Reed in charge and Paul Rudd in your leading role.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is scheduled for release on July 6, 2018.
