Ant-Man & The Wasp Extra Features: 10 Things We Learned
8. The Wasp's Suit Was A Nightmare To Make
Ant-Man and the Wasp of course required the costume department to come up with a nifty new suit for The Wasp, and Head of Speciality Costumes Ivo Coveney went into detail about how arduous a process this was compared to the Ant-Man suit.
In the design stage the distinctive colour on the front of the suit was nicknamed "gilver" by a Marvel employee - meaning a combination of gold and silver - requiring Coveney and his team to combine separate reflective silver and leather gold elements to make the final practical colour.
The worst part of creating the suit, though? The stomach portion alone required 90 small, separate pieces to be applied in order to ensure that Evangeline Lilly had maximum manoeuvrability and wasn't restricted by bulkier components. The end result was clearly worth it, but that's some serious graft right there.
