3. Sonny Burch Is A Scientologist

The other deleted scene is even weirder than that, but in a totally different way. The scene sees Sonny Burch (Walton Goggins) and his men attempting to track down the Pym lab, visiting a nearby bookstore to view its security cameras and hopefully figure out where it went.

Bizarrely, the scene ends with Burch asking the store owner if he has a first edition copy of Dianetics, which is of course essentially the handbook for Scientology. The owner replies that he does, and Burch then asks if it's signed, presumably hoping it's been scrawled by Scientology's late leader L. Ron Hubbard.

This is obviously just a silly way to remind the audience that Burch is a bit of a moron, but it's also pretty damn funny, especially as Burch waits until his men are out of earshot before requesting the book, as though he's at least a little embarrassed of his "eccentric" beliefs.
