2. MODOK Gets Done Dirty

The trailers freely revealed that MODOK would appear in Quantumania, and while we'll keep the spoilerific particulars of his role to ourselves, if you've seen any of the pre-release rumours about him, you basically know where things are going.

As much as many were excited to finally see the eccentric Marvel villain get realised on a big-budget canvas, it's tough to imagine many comic book fans coming away happy with the outcome.

For starters, the VFX aspect of the character is hugely lacking - something the filmmakers even seem vaguely aware of given how many times characters make cracks about MODOK's uncanny appearance during the movie.

And while MODOK is a fundamentally ridiculous character, he's rendered enough of a joke here that he's never really menacing at all, which feels like a huge disservice to such an iconic Marvel antagonist.
