2. Classic Aquaman Is Born

Arthur finally makes it to the Trident of Atlan's resting place, where he faces off against its guardian, a gigantic, man-eating leviathan known as Karathen, and for reasons that will never not be both wonderful and baffling, it's voiced by Mary Poppins herself, Julie Andrews.

Though she immediately deems him un-worthy of the trident, Karathen changes her mind once he demonstrates his ability to speak to her, something nobody has done since Atlan.

He confirms his desire to protect both Atlantis and the surface world, after which Karathen allows him to retrieve the trident unimpeded.

Cue that glorious money shot of Arthur emerging from a waterfall wearing the classic Aquaman costume, and somehow not looking like a total goof. Bravo.
